It is stretching at the foot of the mountains of Small Carpathians and on both banks of the Danube river, the second largest river in Europe. Bratislava borders three countries: Hungary from the south, Austria From the west, and Czech Republic from the north. The distance between Bratislava and Vienna (the capital of Austria) is only 65 km; Bratislava and Budapest (the capital of Hungary) are only 180 km away from each other; and Bratislava is 330 km away from Prague. Elevation above the sea: 126-514 m above the sea level There are five main bridged in Bratislava. The most interesting, architectural, and the newest bridge is Apollo, which started to operate in 2005.
