Primaciálny palác - The Primate´s Palace
The Primate´s Palace
Classicist palace built within in 1781 for the archbishop Jozef Bathyany. The city bought the palace in 1903. The Mirror hall witnessed many important acts. Therewas signed the Peace of Pressburg in 1805 between Napoleonic France and Habsburgs Austria after the battle at Austerlitz. The King Ferdinand signed here a document on abolition of serfdom in Hungary 1848. The collections of the Gallery of the City of Bratislava are located in representative rooms with a unique collection of tapestries from the 17th century showind tragic love of Hero to Leandros. The tapestries are from an English royal weaving factory at Mortlake. The palace is a seat of the mayor of the town at present.Cyprus holiday villas rentals.
