Caves
Belianska jaskyňa - Belianska cave
Situated in the eastern part of the Belianske Tatry over the Tatranska Kotlina, in the National Nature Reserve Belianske Tatry, in the territory of the Tatra National Park. It was created in the Middle Triassic limestones by corrosion and erosion waters from melting snow and ice or strong precipitation. It reaches the length of 3,018 m. Sinter „waterfalls", pagoda-like stalagmites and several sinter pools are very attractive. Also other forms of sinter filling are richly represented. Front parts of the cave were known to gold miners as late as in the first half of the 18th century. However, for long years to come, the rest of the cave remained hidden to man’s eyes. It was entered again in 1881. A part of the cave has been open to the public as early as since 1882. Electric lights were installed in 1896. At present, more than 1,000 m are accessible to the public.Cyprus holiday villas rentals. Paphos villas for rent.Need to rent a Cyprus villa? Do it online.
